Moving along

Been thinking if I am a bully and if so, why? I make no distinctions between the pilots I chase and kill but the easiest to catch are the noobs. Some noobs has fought back well - many I suspect are alts of carebears mains. However, I like the thrill of the hunt more so than the kill - the feeling of anticipation as I move from belt to belt, planet to planet - trying to think how the target is thinking and using that against him.

Also, I love T1 frigates and throwing them against far 'superior' ships is a challenge that I crave for. However, I am not stupid or suicidal. I suspect Battlecruiser are probably the limit to what is doable. A hurricane or cyclone would be a fine test of the bleeder.

So, I decided to head into Metropolis for a bit - Eifer and the surrounds was getting a bit crowded for my liking so I moved through and into Metropolis via Arnstur.

Lots more corps here and one has to pick targets carefully too.

A fair few corps have established themselves in certain systems so I moved cautiously between the systems - the scanner open. I saw feroxes, ravens and other ship types so there were targets but nothing I could take on without an entire corp piling into my ass. I moved into Ualkin and once again, plenty in local. However, there was one pilot from a corp with no other corp mates. This is good.

I scanned him and figured out that he was in a thrasher but there were also battleships with him. I think they were all ratting together. I waited until someone left and after five minutes the thrasher moved out of scan range. This was good - all the pilots were in my half of the system. So I hit the jump drive and went to the furthest planet and commenced scanning. Found the thrasher first time and decided to seize the opportunity. No time like the present.

Checking ammo levels were ok, I pushed the punisher into the warp tunnel and preceded to the belt where I hoped the thrasher was waiting for me. It was there as I thought it would be. However, I landed short so I had to fly over with the afterburner screaming away to close the distance. It had spotted me and decided to target me - it was a thrasher after all and designed to take out frigates like myself. Thats fine for me!!!

We engaged and I pwned.

An hour later, I was patrolling the area again (this time passing through Evati) when I spotted a lone punisher in a belt. I figured, what the hell so i leapt in with the Bleeder. This one was poorly fitted but he was a noob after all. I killed and podded him but he wanted to chat. So, being bored - I allowed him through into the IDP channel.

He was not happy and proceeded to give me a load of verbal about being a miner-killer etc etc. Well, I did point out to him that he was in low-sec and thus, not free from being molested. He obviously thought I was a griefer as he posed no threat to me. This I agreed was true and therefore more reason for me to take him out. He ended the conversation with the classic: " run into a wall and die!" then signed off.

Killing scythes

Tested out the Bleeder again, not too happy with it to be honest - it doesnt last well against frigates but cruisers - well, better.

Checked out Auren today - usually the ass end of nowhere but plenty of belts for victims to hide in. I arrived and there were two. A rifter and a scythe. The rifter was ss'ing everywhere and I had no hope in catching him. The scythe was something different.

I found him ratting in a belt near planet IV. I landed about 12KM and hit the afterburner to close the distance. He better not warp out! I thought to myself. He didn't but started to lock me - so it was game on. Only had two kills in the punisher so was eager to add a third.

I hit a tight 2000m orbit, switched on the 200mm and the nos and maintained orbit. He was using heavy missiles and they stripped my shields pretty quick but then hit the wall that was the Bleeder's tank. He was only down to 50% and I was in armour but it felt like a fight I could win. I also decided to do a quick repair on the armour: nothing dis-heartens a pilot when he see damage being repaired mid-battle.

He continued to hit me with missiles but all was in control - my nos was picking up enough Cap to sustain my (already huge) cap reserves. The 200mm ACs chipped away with EMP projectiles while the disruptor kept him tight.

He con'voed me and started chatting - I got the feeling he was unsure what to do - doesn't he know when he is being mugged?

I took him down to armour and continued to chip away - his conversation was interesting but i wanted the kill. I told him 500K to save his pod but he said no. Fare enough - took the scythe down to hull and continued to chip away at him. My armour tank was at 98% with 80% cap. There was no breaking this tank. The 200mm reinforced steel plate made a difference.

His ship popped and I snagged his pod. We chatted some more even when his pod was blasted. He wasn't pleased but calmed down enough to see that this was not personal. He just got ambushed.

Hunting a caracal

Lucius has proved to be a good wing man and the 'Independence movement' work well. LC had a rupture and was testing it - so far it had performed well but there was a question on how quickly it could lock onto frigates and other smaller craft.

We both undocked and hunted around for targets. We spotted a caracal and a rifter companion and thought that this would be ideal. I was in two minds as to whether to go back and get a punisher as it was designed to soak up damage and would be ideal anti-Caracal duty. Deciding against it, I continued to hunt. It was in Gusandall and we both missed the Caracal by seconds each time.

Then it and her rifter companion disappeared from local. Gusandall is a hub with five gates leading off it. I went to Auren while LC went towards Eifer. We both came up empty and chose Ingunn as the next likely place.

Arriving at the SG - I saw LC jump before me. How on earth did he get there before me? Once in Ingunn, we were rewarded with the presence of Alize and her friend. LC and I jumped to our own scanning points and quickly tried to narrow her down. I got the caracal at IV-3 and warped to it. I arrived and saw her!

I targetted but she had already initiate her jump engines and hopped out. Hopefully, I didn't spook her. LC reported back that he couldn't find the rifter but we both continued to scan.

I got the Caracal at IV-2 and jumped and landed 3KM from Alize's caracal and her rifter wingmate. I immediately hit the warp disruptor after I got a lock. The caracal and the rifter were ready for me though.

Yelling at LC to get to IV-2 immediately, I slammed the rifter into a tight orbit and webbed the caracal. I really should have webbed the rifter instead but in the heat of battle, killing the caracal was paramount.

The caracal spat out missiles at me as the rifter started to slam projectiles at me too. My shields disappeared and the armour was close to following even with the small armour repairer running frantically.

LC finally burst into normal space and went straight for the caracal. I had taken almost all its shields down but the combined firepower of the caracal and rifter was too much. Not for the first time did I think that a punisher would have been a better choice.

My hull shattered and I quickly warped out. LC had the caracal in its sights and with his dual-180mm ACs - ripped the cruiser to pieces.

Alize was also podded but the rifter managed to get away.

What a fight!

After waiting out the 15 minute global flag I docked and chatted to Lucius and Revivor - erstwhile flying acquintances.

I refitted with a small armour repairer this time round and went back out for someone else. Eifer proved to be bountiful and I caught RandomOFF in his rifter. He put up a decent fight but ultimately, he died.

Got a thrasher but forgot my SAR!

Still smarting from the recent losses I wanted to kill someone, anyone. Eifer was always a fun place to go to and I zipped in there. A quick scan of local revealed a number of pilots but nothing on the scanner.

Jumping to the other side fo the Eifer system and the scanner sprang to life. There were thrashers, rifters and a myrmidon.

Decided a thrasher would be a good way to jump back into the swing of things and proceeded to hunt it down. A tricky one this, Mirakuglix, while new was jumping around all over the place. I finally tracked her down after three minutes of hunting and scrambled her. For a moment - when the target was locked I thought that I had a 7.5KM fitted.

The webber came on at 10KM and I put in a tight orbit as my 150mm ACs started their 'speech of hate'.

The thrasher retargetted me but I was delighted to see that this was, once again, horribly fitted with only the missile launcher causing any problems. It had howitzers on.

The ship tried to escape but the scrambler and webber held it firm.

It died.

Missed a mark - cause am a noob

Ach, am cursing right now. Been chasing a rupture that had a WCS installed so had to get a 7.5KM scrambler but he disappeared so am in a safespot and see another target: a rifter. I gleefully chase him down and land 9KM and to my horror - my scrambler is out of range. Even worse, I had webbed the target so he can get into warp even faster!!!!

Demtalin le'Mercenaire was driving a ruppie and we later discovered, with WCS too. So a 2pt scrambler please!

I jumped in on him a few times in Gus, Eifer and Ingunn and missed him. So too, did Lucius with the same luck.
