Kill 'em all.

So am still hungry for more victims and I spotted a slasher in hrondedir amongst all the battleships and battlecruisers. No idea what he was doing but he knew enough to keep warping between safe spots and only wander into belts when the place was clear. It took me a good ten minutes to figure out his movements but once I knew, I decided to lie in wait close by and warp in at the same time and give him a fright.

The familiar feeling was building up in me as waited, my fingers twitchy on the fire controls. My ship, linked to me via the pod was straining to jump into the fight.

He disappeared from my scanner and I knew he was heading into the the other side of the system away from the main mob of pilots clustered around the Hrondemund gate. I counted down 30 seconds and then also jumped.

Hitting the scanner in mid warp at 180 degrees, I was rewarded with the return of a single frigate signal.

Sweet.

My rifter shuddered as it broke free from the warp tunnel and roared out into normal space. The slasher was there - just where we had planned it.

My targetting computer came on and almost on its own accord started to lock the slasher just as the guns and rocket launcher swivelled to track the target. The afterburner roared as he pushed the rifter towards the 800ms speed limit.

I locked, scrambled and webbed and killed the slasher in two salvoes.

Blood lust meant that I couldnt be bothered to ransom and kill his pod stone dead. His flash-frozen corpse bumping into my ship as I approached it.

Nice, nice Rifter tank but not me......

Decided a a trip to hrondredir was in order. So I flew there in the trusty rifter. Eager for more fresh meat. However, I was carved up and served. I spotted Jak-O in local and went after him. We engaged each other at a planet. The blue-green orb a magnificient backdrop for our conflict. He knocked my shields down in seconds and started to eat into my armour. His shields soon followed and his armour.

It was close but I trusted my higher skills and cheaper weapons against his more expensive weaponary and lower skill base.

Well, it was a gamble that went wrong. Our frantic repair work matched for three cycles but I was then getting dangerously low on capacitor energy. While I couldn't see his cap levels; the fact that he could continue to repair meant he had more reserves than me.

He had a cap booster.

Shit.

While I ran out of cap (this after a frenetic three minute fusiliade of fire and rockets) he continued to repair.

I didn't run as I decided to honour this fight and go down in flames. He had a webber on me and with his AB and Cap Booster - meant no scrambler. No matter, honour and pride!

My hull splintered under his T2 fire (he was using barrage shells) and I quickly warped my pod out of harm's way. It was a good fight.

Chatting to some locals about the fight last night was fun but the familiar twitch was upon me and I wanted to blow someone up.

Unfortunately, I tangled with a T2 SAR / NOS rifter that just outlasted me.
